VISITING DRESDEN, LEIPZIG OR CHEMNITZ
Since April 2002 Chabad is active in Saxony, one of the 16 states in Germany. The most beautiful city in the whole region is Dresden. The state of Saxony is located in east Germany and has a total Jewish population of about 2.300 Jews. Dresden has the smallest Jewish community of about 650 Jews and thats why we don't have any kosher store or restaurant yet. Chabad is serving the needs of its local Jewish members in offering the whole Chabad House variety like daily minyanim, Shabbes services, social activities and Jewish education.
As Chabad we are serving the whole state of Saxony, but only Dresden has a Chabad House. The other two cities (Leipzig and Chemnitz) we are reaching out, but don't offer the complete service as we do in Dresden. Please have this in mind before you come.

WHAT ELSE IS JEWISH IN OUR REGION?
Chabad of Dresden is doing the best, but unfortunately we don't have a kosher store or restaurant. The next two closest cities with Jewish life are both about 2 hours away. Berlin and Prague (Czech Republic) offer kosher stores, restaurants and museums. Chabad for sure can help you out while you are staying in Dresden.
